Dr. Njeri Muigai

 The Founder.

MediVa was founded and run by the late Dr. Njeri Muigai, a mental health specialist (consultant psychiatrist and clinical psychologist), who was involved in promotion and practice of treatment and rehabilitation for substance use disorders, and other mental health issues. She had special interest in working with adults and adolescents and a passion for community mental health.

Her legacy lives on through her colleagues at MediVa Wellness Centre, who in her honor continue to uphold what she believed in and endeavor carry on her vision into the future.



Sitawa Wafula

Advocate & Consultant

Sitawa Wafula is a nomadic mental health crusader, interested in the social and preventative aspects of mental health in Africa (and small groups dynamics especially among millennials)
She uses her personal journey as a rape survivor living with a dual diagnosis of epilepsy and bipolar to provide people in Africa with the necessary information and support to not only handle mental health conditions but also deal with everyday life. She achieves this through her Google Award winning self titled blog ( and her mental health social enterprise; My Mind, My Funk which ran Kenya’s first free mental health support line and provided support to over 11,000 Kenyans.‎

Mr.Elvis Osimbi

Lead Addiction Counselor / Administrator.

A seasoned addictions counselor and mental health professional.
Worked in government for close to 5 years as a telephone counselor and trainer. Has also worked in various Treatment facilities as a senior Counselor.

Holds a Diploma in Addictions Counseling and Treatment, Psychology- (SAPTA) and Nazarene University.

Certificate in Therapeutic Community Treatment from Daytop International- USA.

Certificate -Trainer of Trainers (TOT) –National Authority for the Campaign Against Drugs and Alcohol – NACADA.

Certificate in Telephone counseling: NACADA, among other professional courses.

As the in – House Lead Addiction Counselor, he brings years of experience and expertise in the field of addiction.
Tina Wakukha Masai

Formerly worked at the Kenya Armed Forces hospital as a Senior Matron/Nurse and a senior superintendent of Police. Experienced in patients care and support -HIV/AIDS and Counselling.

She is a registered general nurse.
